How is the noble experiment called the United States of America coming along on the nation’s birthday?

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are arguably the most important documents this Nation has produced. Actually, except for the God-inspired Bible, it could be argued that they are the greatest works man has produced. It is wondrous to consider what one small committee of delegates to the Continental Congress were able to come up with and to consider the magical phrases that make up this challenge, such as: “We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, and among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Do you know that the United States of America is the site of the oldest government in the world today. Since 1776 every nation on the face of this earth has changed its form of government except the USA. What Benjamin Franklin referred to as, “This most noble experiment,” has held up pretty well. Don’t you think?

There are many other memorable phrases from our founding that are more valuable than gold: words like, “These are the times that try mens souls,” “Give me liberty…,” Benjamin Franklin affixing his signature and remarking that, “We must now hang together or we will surely be hanged separately.”

Surely, our Constitution is the most God honoring document ever penned by men to govern a people. Anytime, not just the Independence Day Celebration, is a good time for us to thank God for our Nation and the Constitution which is its foundation.
