Immigration reform maybe just around the corner.

The “Baltimore Sun” reports that White House officials are already making promises to the Latino community about immigration reform. The paper reports that Mr.Obama’s immigration reform policy will be a huge part of his agenda for the remainder of this year. And that’s with the crucial midterm elections coming up this fall, even. Openly Obama officials say that their plan would have provisions for both tighter border security and a faster path to citizenship for illegal aliens already in the country.

Opinion Dynamic Corporation conducted a national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for “Fox News” back in the early part of this month. By eight-to-one, Americans think it is unfair to grant rights to illegal immigrants while thousands of people waiting each year to come to the United States are trying to do it legally. However, once illegal immigrants are across the border, American’s opinions change according to this poll. More than two-thirds, favor allowing illegals who have jobs already to apply for legal, temporary-work status, that is up from 62% in 2005, that is a 7% jump.

The top worry is that illegal immigrants will strain the government. Almost all Americans, 87%, say they are concerned illegals will overburden government services, including 61% that are “very” concerned and another 26% that are “somewhat” concerned. The biggest worry is that more illegal immigrants would burden down the country’s welfare and medical systems.
